"Gramps" Barrett
Known to most as Captain Gramps, Mark Barrett brings more than 45 years of experience on the water to every Marco Dolphin Cruise. A lifelong mariner, he began as a commercial fisherman in his younger days before becoming a licensed captain (and even a real estate agent), but his true calling has always been life on the waves.
For the past 22 years, Captain Gramps has proudly captained the Stamas 310 Express, guiding guests to unforgettable moments among dolphins, pelicans, and the beautiful backwaters of Marco Island. His laughter, love of music, and easygoing nature make every cruise feel like a celebration under the sun.
A married father of four and proud grandfather of two, Mark and his family moved to Marco Island two years ago, quickly falling in love with its vibrant waters and welcoming community. He often jokes he should've been a party planner — because with Captain Gramps at the helm, you're guaranteed good times, great company, and memories that last long after you're back on shore.
